University of Evansville baseball fans are invited to meet the 2010 version of the Purple Aces on Monday, February 15 at 6:00 p.m. with the annual “Meet The Aces” event.  This year’s event will take place in Eykamp Hall Room A in UE’s William L. Ridgway University Center on campus and admission is free to the public.

University of Evansville junior third baseman Cody Fick and senior utility player Tom Heithoff have both been named to the 14-member preseason all-Missouri Valley Conference baseball team in a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Season ticket packages are now on sale at the University of Evansville for a challenging 2010 baseball schedule which head coach Wes Carroll announced today.  The home schedule includes games against 2009 NCAA Tournament teams Louisville, Wichita State, Western Kentucky, and Indiana this spring at Charles H. Braun Stadium, the renewal of the crosstown rivalry with Southern Indiana, and the retirement of former UE and Major League standout Andy Benes’ jersey number.

The University of Evansville Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) and the Green River Road Hacienda Mexican Restaurant are teaming up to try and “give back” to former University of Evansville baseball player Derek Melton to help in his recovery process with a Hacienda “Gives Back Fiesta” on Tuesday, February 2.
