The University of Evansville cross country teams will travel to Peoria, Illinois on Saturday to take part in the 2009 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championships.  The championships will begin at 10:30 a.m. central time with the men’s 8-K race, while the women’s 5-K race will follow at 11:30.

Spurred by an individual title by Matt Schiffbauer, the Marshall University men’s cross country team won a hotly-contested men’s 8-K team title on Saturday at the 2009 University of Evansville Cross Country Invitational, while the Murray State women raced to the team title in the women’s 5-K meet at the UE Cross Country Course in Evansville.

CARY, N.C.--Setting new personal-best times was the name of the game for the Purple Aces on Friday, as seven different male and female competitors for Evansville set new standards in both the men’s 8-K and women’s 5-K races.  The new personal-best times propelled the UE men to a fifth-place finish, while the women came in sixth in the 14-team field.

CARBONDALE, Ill.--For the fourth consecutive meet, University of Evansville junior Ryan Witters set the pace for the UE men’s cross country team on Saturday, while freshman Lauren Zeabart led UE’s women’s contingent for the second time this season at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Illinois.
