Through its third annual KICK THE COLD, GIVE A COAT campaign, the University of Evansville men's soccer team has collected 178 winter coats to distribute to individuals and families in the Tri-State this month. That's a 40 percent increase from last year's total of 125 coats.
"The KICK THE COLD, GIVE A COAT program is a great opportunity for members of our program and the Evansville soccer community to help those who are less fortunate around the holidays," said Aces' head coach Mike Jacobs. "To see the numbers of coats collected this year totally eclipse our numbers from years past shows that our program can be used as a beacon to help our local community."
The soccer team collected the coats throughout December, and then took them to local Don's and Clayton's Cleaners for their COAT A KID program. For each item donated, the donor received a raffle ticket for prizes in a drawing by the UE soccer program. Prize winners should contact the Aces Soccer Camp office at 589-6743 or by email at acessoccer@insightbb.com to collect their prizes. The winners include:
$50 gift certificate to Aces Soccer Camp Day Camps - Jesse Bouchie
$100 gift certificate to Aces Soccer Camp Residential Camps - John Mudd
Aces soccer polo - Glen Millikan
Aces soccer replica jersey - Ryan Devillez
Aces soccer T-shirt - Challie Kothe
