KETTERING, Ohio -- The University of Evansville women's golf team put together its best round of the fall season today, with two players breaking 80 in the opening round of the University of Dayton Invitational at NCR Country Club North.
Emily Johnson goes into Tuesday's final round in a third place tie among 53 golfers after shooting 78 on Monday. One stroke back is teammate Maggie Wood, tied for fifth. Coach Jim Hamilton's squad is tied for third place in the field of 10 teams with a 327 total. Cincinnati is the first round leader at 317, and Ohio University's Megan Weaver is the tournament leader after shooting 76.
