•  Hacienda "Gives Back Fiesta" Flyer (With Derek Melton Token Included)

The University of Evansville Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) and the Green River Road Hacienda Mexican Restaurant are teaming up to try and “give back” to former University of Evansville baseball player Derek Melton to help in his recovery process with a Hacienda “Gives Back Fiesta” on Tuesday, February 2.

Melton was an honorable-mention all-Missouri Valley Conference baseball player at UE in 2008, and was having the summer of his life that summer as an all-star in the wooden-bat Northwoods League, until a swimming accident left him paralyzed due to a neck injury.  A year and a half later, Melton is still fighting to try and regain movement, and UE’s S.A.A.C. would like to help him in his recovery process by raising funds to aid his medical expenses.  They have teamed with Hacienda on Green River Road to have a “Give Back Fiesta,” where 20 percent of all sales (with a Hacienda “Gives Back Fiesta” token) will go to Melton’s cause.

To participate, fans are encouraged to print off the Hacienda “Gives Back Fiesta” flyer on GoPurpleAces.com and clip out the “Gives Back” token on the bottom of the page.  Then, fans are asked to take the token to the Hacienda Restaurant location on Green River Road (990 South Green River Road) when they eat, be it lunch or dinner.  When fans present their server with the “Gives Back” token after the meal, Hacienda will donate 20 percent of the meal cost to Melton’s cause.
