EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men’s and women’s swimming and diving team split in a dual meet against IUPUI today. The Aces women’s team defeated the Jaguars 146-95 while the men fell 130.16-109.83.
The UE women brought home wins in nine different events, including both the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:05.74 and the 400-yard freestyle relay with a final time of 3:35.60. In addition to assisting in the women’s 400-yard freestyle relay,
Abby Smith grabbed two first-place wins in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.06 and the 100-yard freestyle with a 53.14 time.
Mackenzie Powell took the top spot in the 200-yard breaststroke with a final time of 2:24.00.
Michelle Tipton was successful in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.87.
Melissa Thurman clocked in at 10:42.98 to place first in the women’s 1000-yard freestyle. Diver Sadie Wells put together another impressive day, sweeping the boards in both the women’s 1-meter and 3-meter diving with a combined score of 511.22.
The UE men were victorious in four events, including the 400-yard freestyle relay with a final time of 3:11.44.
Alex Seward got a first-place win in the men’s 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:01.12.
Cameron Wickes claimed the top spot in the men’s 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:51.69.
Troy Burger clocked in at a time of 1:58.87 to place first in the 200-yard individual melody.
The Aces now set their sights on November 30, when they will travel to Indianapolis to compete in House of Champions.
