EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Behind another stellar singles performance on Saturday night, the University of Evansville women’s tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over UT-Martin on Saturday evening at the Tri-State Athletic Club.
 
Evansville earned its third win in a row to improve to 6-4 on the season.  In the last three outings, the Aces have won five out of six singles contests each time out.
 
The evening began with another doubles win as Marketa Trousilova and Natasha James took the win over Anna Marie Herbold and Ivon Simis, 8-2.  Kelsey Costales and Marina Moreno finished with an 8-4 win over Johanie Van Zyl and Katie McCall while Gaby Fifer and Emily Richardson finished the doubles sweep with a 9-8 tilt against Alice Laing and Anna Winkelmann.
 
James took the win at No. 1 flight with a pair of 6-2 tallies over Simic.  Trousilova saw her mark improve to 8-0 as she topped Herbold, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0.  It marked her second victory in the second slot.  At No. 4, Moreno was victorious over Van Zyl, 6-0, 6-1 while Fifer defeated Laing in flight five, 6-3, 6-2. 
 
Richardson squeaked out a thrilling win in No. 6 as she defeated Silva in three sets (5-7, 6-1, 12-10).  Mina Milovic fell in the third spot to Winkelmann, 6-1, 1-6, 6-2.
 
Evansville will take to the road, beginning on March 5 when they face UNC Wilmington in Indianapolis.  Following that match, UE travels to Arkansas State on March 9.  The next home match is slated for April 3 versus Southern Illinois.
