Trick-Or-Treat With The Aces At Friday's Volleyball Game

EVANSVILLE, Ind.— Bring your family out to trick-or-treat with the Aces before the University of Evansville volleyball team takes on Bradley this Friday night. 

Trick-or-treating will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Carson Center gym with the match beginning at 7 p.m.  Trick-or-treat is free, and children in costume will get into the game for one dollar. 

The Braves earned their first Missouri Valley Conference victory of the season as they defeated the visiting Indiana State Sycamores, 3-1, at Lorene Ramsey Gym on Saturday night. The Braves lost their home match with Illinois State earlier in the week as the Redbirds swept Bradley in three. Amy Reichel leads the team with 242 kills on the season while Sam Black has 769 assists to lead the Braves’ team.

The Aces will also host Northern Iowa in their second game this weekend at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers won their weekend matches over Illinois State and Indiana State to improve to 9-2 in league play this season, with both their losses coming on the road. Ashten Stelken and Ellie Blankenship earned MVC Player of the Week and MVC Defensive Player of the Week honors for their efforts over the weekend. Stelken leads all Division I players averaging 1.36 blocks per set and Blankenship leads the conference with 5.70 digs per set. 

The Aces were at Southern Illinois last Friday with the Salukis taking a 3-0 sweep over the Aces. Despite the loss, the?Aces still sit in fifth place in the league standings with a 5-5 record. Brooke Maher paces the Aces this season with 220 kills while fellow freshman Ellen Sawin has 355 assists to lead the team.
