Head coach Jim Hamilton has added his first two recruits for the 2009-10 season with national letter of intent signings from Logan Osborne of Evansville and Sam Cobb of Bedford.

Osborne is a senior at Evansville Central High School, and is a two-time qualifier for the IHSAA state tournament. He is hoping to make his third trip to the state finals next spring. He is also a two-time all-Southern Indiana Athletic Conference selection.

Cobb qualified for the 2007 IHSAA state finals, and was the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament medalist in 2008. He is a two-time all-HHC player, and was medalist at the 2008 Bedford-North Lawrence Invitational.

"Logan and Sam are both excellent additions to our team," Hamilton said. "Logan has a great work ethic and is an excellent ball striker. As a coach, I am always happy when we have local players who want to continue their golf careers at UE, and I will continue to recruit locally to help build our program.

"Sam has the potential to become a very good golfer at the collegiate level, and I look forward to coaching him and seeing him progress during his career at UE."

Osborne and Cobb will be replacing current seniors Matt Hunsaker and Ryan Linsner. Those two and their teammates begin the spring season March 2 at the Grover Page Classic at Jackson, Tenn.
