Drake Rallies In The Seventh To Defeat Softball Aces 5-3
Box Score

The University of Evansville softball team could not hold on to a 3-0 lead in the seventh inning as the Drake Bulldogs rallied back with five runs in the top of the seventh to win the game 5-3.

The game was scoreless through five and a half innings but with two out in the bottom of the sixth inning Lissa Fehlman put the Aces on top with a three-run home run to score Jacki Bradley and Amanda Ockomon.

Jacki Bradley only gave up one hit in six innings but gave up a lead off double in the seventh. Ashley Hobbs came in for Bradley and gave up an RBI single to the first batter she faced. The Bulldogs sealed the game with a grand slam off the bat of Marilyn Buss.

Fehlman and Brittany Herald led the Aces with two hits each. Ockomon and Krista Price accounted for the other two of the Aces’ five hits. Bradley had three walks in four trips to the plate against Drake.

The loss is only Hobbs second of the year. The junior gave up four earned runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning.

The Aces (12-7) will face off in a doubleheader against Drake Sunday at noon at Cooper Stadium.
