DES MOINES, Iowa -- Drake's Thomas Ostrander broke a scoreless tie with less than two minutes remaining in regulation Saturday night to give the 22nd ranked Bulldogs a 1-0 men's soccer victory over the University of Evansville.  Drake is now 7-3-1 and 2-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference.  Evansville is 8-4 and 2-2.

The Aces had scored at least one goal in eight straight matches, and were ranked 18th nationally in scoring going into Satuday's match.

Garrett Webb set up the goal with a long pass that Ostrander was able to control and then flick past Aces' goalkeeper Phil Boerger to score the lone tally at 88:23.  Drake finished with 18 shots, six on goal, while Evansville ended up with nine shots, two on goal.  Robby Lynch and Tom Irvin had the on-goal shots for the Aces, both of which were stopped by Bulldog goalkeeper Michael Drozd.  Boerger made a total of five saves for the Aces.

The Aces play at Bradley Wednesday before coming home to Black Beauty Field for a three-match homestand that includes Creighton next Saturday, Missouri State Oct. 21, and Drake on Friday, Oct. 23 in the nationally televised Fox Soccer Channel Game of the Week. It will be the first event televised nationally from the University of Evansville campus.
