KETTERING, Ohio -- University of Evansville sophomore Michael Sainz tied his career low with a 2-under-par 69 today to take the lead midway through the University of Dayton Invitational at NCR Country Club South.
Sainz shot 35 on the front nine and 34 on the back, and was the only golfer in the field of 98 players to break 70. The Aces are third as a team going into Tuesday's final 18 holes at 304, just six strokes behind first place Toledo. Neal Millay was second for Evansville and 23rd overall at 77, and Andrew Luo and Christian Poling shot 79.
