EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Evansville tennis team was the only team to have three first-team selections to the 2009 Missouri Valley Conference Tennis Scholar-Athlete team.
Kate Chybowski,
Stephanie Millis,
Ashton Schwerin were named first-team selections as announced by the league’s office today while
Allie Cox received an honorable mention.

Sophomores Chybowski and Schwerin earn their first selections on the team. Chybowski, from Appleton, Wis., posts a 3.97 GPA in biology and leads the team with a 14-5 singles record while also being a two-time MVC Player of the Week selection this season. Schwerin has eight singles, playing at number two in her first season at UE. The Madison, Wis. native has a perfect 4.0 GPA in biology.
Cox, a senior from Acworth, Ga., makes her first appearance on the team after being one of the team’s leaders in 2008 with 10 singles victories. She has a 3.3 GPA in finance and is one of the two remaining members, along with Millis, of the 2007 UE team that set a UE record for most wins in a season at 18.
