University of Evansville senior Matt Hunsaker has been chosen for the third consecutive year as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete Team. He has been a unanimous selection the last two years.
Hunsaker's 75.62 career scoring average is the second best in University of Evansville history. Academically, Hunsaker has a 3.92 grade point average. He will graduate on Saturday with a degree in Accounting. Hunsaker was a finalist this spring for the Ralph H. Coleman Award, presented annually to UE's most outstanding senior male scholar-athlete. He was a 2008 Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar.
Hunsaker was one of four repeat selections on the MVC scholar-athlete team, along with Blake Driskell and Todd Obergoenner of Southern Illinois, and Bradley's Zach Wanken. The quartet is joined on the first team by Bradley's Cody Thompson and Wichita State's Grady Pauls. Hunsaker, Obergoenner, Thompson and Wanken were each unanimous selections. Sports information directors in the conference voted for the award.
