Lynch Is Scholar All-American

It may have been the last national honor to come his way in college, but this one was worth the wait for University of Evansville soccer standout Robby Lynch (Carmel, Ind. / Carmel).  Lynch has been chosen as one of 16 players on the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Men's College Scholar All-America Team. A senior majoring in Exercise Science, Lynch has a 3.60 grade point average.

Earlier this month, Lynch earned first team all-Midwest Region honors from the NSCAA.  In so doing, he became the first Evansville player since Jose Londono in 1996 to earn all-region recognition three years in a row.  Lynch was the 2010 Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year, UE's only first team all-MVC selection, and the Aces' second leading scorer from his midfield position with five goals and three assists for 13 points.  He finished his career tied for 22nd in career scoring at UE with 18 goals and 17 assists for 53 points.

Off the field, Lynch was a second team selection on the 2009 NSCAA Scholar All-America Team.  He was also a finalist as a junior and senior for the ESPN Academic All-America Team, and made the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team three years in a row.
