Evansville 6, Lipscomb 4
The second game became a match of anything you can do I can do better as Evansville would put up runs just to have them answered in the bottom of the innings by Lipscomb.
Kelci Alsip was the first Ace on base in the second game with a single and stolen base. Halie Malone walked before Krista Price put Alsip at home with a sacrifice fly to center to go up 1-0 in the third. The Lady Bisons tied the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the third after an Aces' error.
A walk from Malone started the fifth before Alicia Betancur came in as a pinch runner for the catcher. Betancur made her way around to third before Jen Stahlhut put one over the wall to give UE the 3-1 advantage. The lead didn't last long, as Lipscomb once again tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run homer of its own.
With two outs in the sixth, Jamie Lindauer and Alsip both collected base hits. In her first at bat in the second game, Ashleigh Rahming ripped a home run to left center for a three-run lead. Lipscomb tried to rally in the seventh, but could only add a home run to end the game.
Evansville hosts its first home game at James and Dorothy Cooper Stadium on Saturday, March 13 against Eastern Illinois. The doubleheader is set for a 1 p.m. start.
