University of Evansville softball player
Jen Stahlhut has earned Capital One Academic All-District second team honors, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) today.
Capping off her senior season, Stahlhut leads the Aces in nearly every offensive category, hitting .342 from the left side with 13 doubles, four home runs and 23 runs batted in. The outfielder owns the sixth-best on base percentage in the Missouri Valley Conference (.429) and is tied for first in the Valley for total doubles. Stahlhut currently sits in third place in UE’s all-time record books with 49 career doubles, just seven two-baggers away from breaking the top record.
A member of the 2011 preseason All-MVC team, Stahlhut has appeared in all but three games in her career and has started in every game from 2009-11. She is the only Purple Ace to have started in every game so far this season.
The Troy, Ill., native is a two-time all-MVC selection, earning first-team recognition in 2009. She was also named to the all-tournament team in 2010 upon the completion of her junior campaign.
A 2010 MVC Scholar-Athlete pick, Stahlhut holds a 3.71 GPA and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in health service administration.
