Final Results

WICHITA, Kan. – Sophomores Natasha James and Emily Richardson earned victories in their third-place matches in Sunday’s Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships.
 
In flight two singles, Natasha James defeated Anita Lee of Southern Illinois by scores of 6-0 and 6-4.  Emily Richardson also capped off her weekend with a victory as she topped Jennifer Dien of the Salukis in three sets (7-5, 2-6, 10-6).
 
James along with doubles partner Kelsey Costales were defeated in Sunday’s championship match versus Krissy Lankelma and Phoebe Walker of Northern Iowa.  The Panters earned an 8-4 win as James and Costales finished in second place in flight one doubles.
 
Evansville will next face the University of Charleston (W.Va.) on October 13 on USI’s campus before traveling to the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, which will take place from Oct. 18-21 in West Lafayette, Ind.
