ST. LOUIS, Mo. – After helping the University of Evansville women's soccer team lock up the No. 2 seed for this week's Missouri Valley Conference Championship, Whitney Biggs was named the league's Goalkeeper of the Week on Tuesday.
Biggs, a senior out of Bloomington, Ind., made seven stops in net for the Purple Aces as she posted her fourth clean sheet of the season against Missouri State last Thursday. A year ago, she ended the regular season in similar fashion before going on to earn the MVP award for the MVC tourney.
Biggs is the third weekly winner for the Aces this year as Bronwyn Boswell and Samantha Brown earned offensive and defensive honors, respectively, earlier in the season. This marks the first time since 2014 that the Aces have earned an offensive, defensive and goalkeeper weekly award in a single year.
UE will be back in action on Friday in the semifinals of the MVC tournament, which will take place at Adelaide Street Field on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal.
