Aces return home to take on Missouri State

EVANSVILLE, Ind.  –  Swimming and diving return after the break tomorrow to take on the Missouri State Bears at Wyttenbach Pool at 4 pm.

The Aces' return home after a successful weekend at IUPUI's House of Champions meet.

Danielle Freeman led the Aces in record breaking fashion. She took first place in the 50 freestyle with 23.25, a time which broke the meet record she herself set in 2014. She also took 12th place in the 100 butterfly with a 57.37. She took a final victory in the 100 freestyle, her time of 50.94 breaking another of her own meet records of 51.19 set in 2014.
 
Michaela Kent had a strong showing of her own. She finished with third place in the 100 backstroke with a final time of 56.17. Additionally, she competed in the 100 freestyle, taking sixth place with a time of 51.47.
 
Alaina Sylvester took seventh place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.33, while Kristen Myers placed sixth in the 200 IM, her final time a 2:08.53. 
 
Kent, Myers, freshman Emma Hennessy, and Freeman teamed up to clock in at 1:35.54 for a third place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Sophomore Sam Gowdy, freshman Alaina Sylvester, Freeman, and Kent clocked in with a 1:45.12 for another third place finish in the 200 Medley Relay
 
On the men's side, freshman Brandt Hudson led the Aces in the 500 freestyle, clocking in at 4:41.42 for 19th place, while Everett Plocek had a time of 21.58, good for 12th place.
 
Paul Cozzens clocked in at 4:04.33 in the 400 IM for 12th place, and 17th in the 200 butterfly with a final time of 1:53.40. 
 
Not only did the Aces place well, but nearly every single member of the team posted improvements to season or lifetime bests.
 
Courtney Coverdale had another stellar meet that earned her the second Diver of the Week title of the season. On the 3-Meter, Coverdale scored 254.25 points to take second place; she then took another second place in the 1-Meter with a final score of 231.85 points.
