EVANSVILLE – Matt Ruffing will begin his first full season at the helm of the women's basketball program in November, and after a special unveiling live on Facebook, the Purple Aces now have their full non-conference slate lined up.
The Facebook broadcast, which started at 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, was the second in as many days for UE Athletics. On Monday, men's basketball head coach Marty Simmons broke down his team's schedule.
The women's basketball season will begin in earnest on Nov. 12 as the Aces will welcome Cleveland State to the Ford Center for the opener. It marks the first of six home games for UE over the course of the non-conference season.
Things will continue two days later as Eastern Illinois will pay a visit to Evansville before the Aces hit the road to take on Ball State on Nov. 16. A showdown against Southeast Missouri on Nov. 20 will mark the last home game for the month, as UE will once again depart for away games at Northwestern (Nov. 27), Valparaiso (Nov. 30) and Murray State (Dec. 4).
UE will return home with an Education Day game against Oakland City at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6. From there, the Aces will bookend home games against Austin Peay (Dec. 10) and Alabama A&M (Dec. 21) with a trip to perennial power Louisville on Dec. 18.
