ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Bronwyn Boswell keyed the University of Evansville women's soccer team to its first victory of the year on Sunday, and on Tuesday, the Missouri Valley Conference recognized her efforts, naming the senior midfielder Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Boswell, a preseason all-conference selection, scored each of UE's goals in the 2-0 win at Miami. She earned a penalty after being taken down inside the 18-yard-box in the ninth minute and followed up moments later with her first goal of the season. She doubled the advantage later in the half after a nice build-up sequence from Sara Osinski and Montana Portenier.
 
The match marked the third time in Boswell's career that she found the back of the net multiple times in the same contest. It was also the first time she had accomplished the feat since 2014. With 16 career goals, the Frisco, Texas, native is three away from entering UE's all-time top 10 in the category.
 
Boswell had previously earned the MVC's Offensive Player of the Week award on Sept. 15, 2015. She's the first UE player to take home multiple weekly offensive honors in her career since Abby Springer did so twice during the 2012 campaign.
 
The Aces will return to action later this week when the team plays its home opener against Cincinnati on Friday. Kickoff from Arad McCutchan Stadium is slated for 7 p.m., and the game will be the first this season to be broadcast live on ESPN3.
