UE, which will begin the weekend with a 1-7-1 record, are looking to return to the scoring form the team enjoyed earlier this season, highlighted by a 2-0 victory at Miami (Ohio) last month. This weekend could prove key for UE's season as it marks the end of the non-conference schedule.
Senior Bronwyn Boswell has frequently been involved in UE's offensive efforts over the course of her entire Aces career, and that's been especially true this season as she's bagged five or UE's seven goals. In all, the Frisco, Texas, native has found the back of the net 19 times in her career, which is tied for ninth in school history. She's one away from moving into a tie for eighth, which is the spot currently occupied by former star Shelean Roylance, who played from 1994-98.
Montana Portenier and Molly Lear have UE's other two scores on the season.
Meanwhile, Whitney Biggs has helmed UE's defense this season. Also a senior, the Bloomington, Ind., native is coming off a 10-save performance at UT Martin on Tuesday. In all, she's had 45 saves this season, and dating back to last year she's recorded four clean sheets in her last six matches at McCutchan Stadium.
Friday's contest, which will mark the first home match for IUPUI since Aug. 26, will see the Jaguars trying to bounce back after losing in two of the last three games. The team is 4-3-1 on the year, including a 2-0 mark at Michael A. Carroll Stadium, beating Valparaiso and Marian.
Butler, on the other hand, is 6-2-1 and riding a three-match winning streak, beating Indiana State, Fort Wayne and IUPUI by a combined score of 10-0.
Kickoff on Friday evening is slated for 6 p.m. Central time.
