Tkachenko won both of her matches on Friday and for a second straight match came from a set to defeat Klara Skopac of Northern Kentucky, 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 in the semi final, before taking a straight set victory over Vanina Iordinova of Xavier, 6-2, 6-3. Tkachenko also partnered with fellow freshman Nicoli Pereira to score a 6-1 victory in doubles over Koester/Sutton from Butler. The pair eventually fell to the team of Hrgente/Demconkova of Eastern Kentucky 6-4 in the quarterfinals.
Â
In doubles play, the duo of Leah Helpingstine and Andjela Brguljan were victorious in the third flight. They defeated Anna Delaney and Claire Herdina of Dayton, 6-4. Brguljan and Helpingstine also bowed out in the quarter finals to the pair of Nelleson/Power from host Northern Kentucky by a 6-2 score.
Â
At #1 doubles, Chieko Yamada and Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga fell to Duquesne, 6-3. Second-flight doubles saw Theodora Soldatou and Daria Pentsova, who lost to Eastern Kentucky by a 7-6 final.
Overall, Head Coach Jayson Wiseman was pleased with how the team fared, "This was a very tough weekend of tennis with a lot of quality teams and players competing. Although we didn't achieve the type of results we were hoping for across the board, we are very proud of Diana and her performance at the #2 singles flight. I'm very proud of the effort that everyone played and competed with this weekend. We definitely learned a lot about our team and some things that we need to work on to be more consistent next time out."

Evansville will be back on the court on October 1 and 2 at Wesselman Park when they host the Evansville Metro Collegiate Invitational.
