EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men's golf team is ready for its second tournament of the season as the squad travels to Batavia, Ohio for the NKU Fall Classic.
Action begins with two rounds at 8:30 a.m. ET on Sunday before the final round of play on Monday starts at 9 a.m. Elks Run Golf Club will play host to the event, which features a par of 71 and yardage of 6,845. The field for the tournament includes: Northern Kentucky, Chicago State, Dayton, Green Bay, Fort Wayne, Loyola, Morehead State, Oakland, Robert Morris, Savannah State, St. Francis, Stetson, Tennessee State, Wright State and Youngstown State.
In the season-opening Murray State Invitational, Tyler Gray carded a 2-under 69 to lead the Purple Aces to a 4th place finish last Tuesday.
Gray tied for 6th place with a three-round total of 210. After rounds of 73 and 68 on the opening day, Gray registered a 69. Tying for 15th place was Wil Pahud. He shot a 75 in the final round to finish with a 215. Pahud was three strokes ahead of Matthew Ladd, who tied for 24th place with a 218.
After beginning the weekend with a 77, Ladd carded a 70 in the second round and an even 71 on the final day. Next up was Jon Pick, who had his best round of the tournament. Pick opened play with scores of 75 and 78 to start before rebounding with a 1-over 72 in the final round. He tied for 39th with a 225.
Noah Reese tied for 42nd place. He notched a 76 in the final round to finish with a 228. Playing as an individual was Austin Carmack. He posted a 78 in the final round and tied for 53rd with a 234.
