Men's Results - Women's Results
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Sienna Crews and Hannah Welsh took the top two positions as the University of Evansville cross country teams ran at the Austin Peay Invitational on Saturday morning.
The women came home in third place out of nine participating teams while the men took fourth out of ten.
Crews, who also won the event last year, blistered her previous course record in the 5K race. She ran a 19:05 as a freshman, but improved that to an 18:10 this year, which is also her PR. It bested her 18:33.87 in last year's MVC Championship. She finished nine seconds ahead of teammate Hannah Welsh, who also set a PR with an 18:19.
Ashton Bosler was third on the team. She made it 3-for-3 with runners setting PR's as she recorded a time of 19:45 to finish in tenth place. Her old PR came last year at the MVC Championship and was a 20:09.09. Next up was Kylie Hasenour. She fell just seven seconds she of her top time at UE, running a 20:34 to take 27
th.
Next up was Michelle Karp. Her 20:43 saw her take 32
nd. Anna Loef crossed the line in 40
th out of the 77 runners. She ran a 21:21 and was followed by Katie Beaber's 21:47. August Martinez set a PR with her 22:31 (54
th) while Hayley Elliott's 23:36 rounded out the squad.
For the men, Ricky Hendrix was the top finisher once again as the team ran 4 miles. He topped Stanley Chepchieng and Tucker Dawson. Hendrix came in 6
th place, posting a time of 22:20. His efforts came in a race that featured 89 participants.
Chipeching earned a top-20 finish, taking 20
th with a time of 23:06. Frondorf had a solid run. His 23:13 was good for 26
th place overall.
Fourth for the guys was freshman Tucker Dawson. He circled the 4-mile course in 23:29 to take 34
th. Twelve seconds behind him was Paul Schwartz, who placed 38
th and ran a 23:41. Senior Ben Woolems finished the race in 24:10 to take 49
th. Rounding out the Evansville contingent were Andrew Barrett (24:43-58
th), Aaron Cochran (24:51-60
th), Kudzi Mandingwa (27:33-76
th) and Daniel Zoufal (28:33-83
rd).
This weekend, the Aces head east for the Greater Louisville Classic.
