After enjoying a stellar freshman campaign with the University of Evansville men's soccer team, Simon Waever picked up yet another honor this week as he was named one of top freshmen in the country, placing 33^rd on TopDrawerSoccer's annual Top 100 Freshmen list.
 
Waever, a native of Holte, Denmark, was both an all-region and all-conference honoree on the year, ending the season with a goal and three assists while playing primarily in the midfield and along the back line. His efforts helped lead the Aces to the second-largest single season turnaround in school history.
 
Waever, who was one of nine newcomers to see significant playing time in 2016, was the 10^th-rated international player on the list, and the third player that hailed from an Indiana school, joining Notre Dame's Tommy McCabe and Butler's Lewis Suddick.
