EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Homecoming 2017 is set for this weekend on the University of Evansville campus. Purple Aces athletics will be playing a large part in the schedule of events for this weekend.
Starting at 8 p.m. on Friday evening, the Aces Pep Rally will take place at the Ridgway University Center. At that time, the Mr. and Miss UE finalists will be announced.

Saturday is the highlight of the athletics portion of the weekend. The day starts out at Angel Mounds as the Aces cross country team will host the annual UE Invitational. It starts at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., the Alumni Swim Meet will be held at the Wyttenbach Pool inside the Carson Center.
The Homecoming Tailgate welcomes all alumni and fans from 2-5 p.m. It will take place at the north end of the H lot directly next to Arad McCutchan Stadium. Live music will be provided by Breakdown Shakedown – an exciting cover band out of St. Louis.
Food trucks will be on hand selling food while student booths and other games will provide fun for all ages. This is open to students, alumni, their families and guests along with all Aces fans at no charge! It is sponsored by the SAB (Student Activities Board), UE Alumni Association and the Department of Athletics.
T-shirts to benefit Mick Lyon and his fight against Multiple Sclerosis will be on sale at the north entrance gate to Arad McCutchan Stadium. They cost just $15 and will be sold prior to the matches up until halftime of the men's contest. Both UE teams are planning to wear orange for MS awareness.
Also at the tailgate, a raffle drawing will take place for a Yeti Cooler, Beats Pill, custom Aces cornhole boards and other Aces gear. Everyone who enters the tailgate gets a raffle ticket and winners will be announced near the end, which is at 5 p.m.
A big Missouri Valley Conference soccer doubleheader will take place on Saturday afternoon starting at 2:30 p.m. as the women's squad welcomes Drake to McCutchan Stadium. The men take their turn on the field at 5 p.m. to face Loyola.
Following the men's contest, fireworks will take place over the stadium. These will begin at approximately 7 p.m. or 15 minutes following the completion of the match.
