EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Two weeks removed from their strong finish at the Greater Louisville Classic, the University of Evansville men's and women's cross country teams are set to host their lone race of the fall with Saturday's running of the UE Invitational at Angel Mounds. Aces Insider Joe Downs has a preview.Â
The UE Invitational features a 12-team field for both races. Joining the Aces in both races are Brescia Universtiy, Spaliding University, Oakland City University, Morehouse College, Fontbonne University, Austin Peay University, West Kentucky Community College, Kaskaskia College, Crowley's Ridge College, University of Montevallo, Vincennes University.
The invitational begins with the men's 8k race starting at 10 a.m., followed by the women's 5k race at approximately 10:45 a.m.. The course at Angel Mounds will receive much national attention over the next few years as it will host the 2017 NCAA DII Cross Country Championship on November 18 and the 2021 NCAA DI Cross Country Regional.

Evansville returns to action after a weekend off. The Aces last competed in the Greater Louisville Classic where freshman Dawson Hood led the men with a 48th-place finish and junior Sienna Crews led the women with a 28th-place finish.
