EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Evansville women's soccer team heads to take on Indiana State in a midweek, Missouri Valley Conference showdown on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Last week, Evansville hosted Drake on homecoming, falling 4-1 to the Bulldogs. The Aces scored first in the match on a goal by senior forward Montana Portenier in the 28th minute to give Evansville a 1-0 lead. Just before the halftime horn, Drake tied the match at one. In the second half, Drake scored in the 53rd minute to gain a 2-1 advantage on the Aces before adding goals in the 61st and 89th minutes.

Wednesday's match marks the 22nd all-time meeting between the Aces and Sycamores with Evansville holding a 12-8-1 advantage in the series. Evansville has won three-straight matches in the series, but despite holding the advantage in the series, the Aces are just 2-7-1 on the road in Terre Haute. In last season's match, the Aces captured a 2-1 victory over Indiana State on October 19, 2016. The Sycamores enter the weekend with a 6-7-1 overall record and a 1-3 mark in MVC play coming off a 2-1 win over Illinois State on Satruday.
