EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Evansville women's soccer team closes out its season with a trip to take on Valparaiso at 4 p.m. on Thursday evening.
On Senior Day at Arad McCutchan Stadium last Saturday, the Aces fell behind by a goal early to Missouri State before senior forward Montana Portenier tied the match for Evansville in the 64th minute. The Bears responded in the 80th minute with what would prove to be the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory for Missouri State.

This year's match marks the 13th all-time meeting between the two sides and first since Valparaiso joined the Missouri Valley Conference. In the series, Evansville owns an 8-2-2 advantage with the Aces undefeated in the last four matchups. In their last meeting, the Aces and Crusaders battled to a 0-0 double-overtime tie on September 14, 2014 in Valparaiso. The Crusaders enters the midweek matchup with a 9-8 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the MVC and is coming off a 2-1 win over Indiana State on Sunday that captured the first MVC Tournament for the Crusaders.
