Aces Cross Country competes at MVC Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.
– The University of Evansville cross country teams competed in the Missouri Valley Conference Championships on Saturday morning at The Springfield Underground in Springfield, Missouri.
 
Junior Sienna Crews led the way for the Aces women's team finishing 53rd among the 78 runner field. The Lincoln City, Ind. native finished the race in 19:14.76. Following Crews for the Aces was freshman Anna Lowry in 65th place. Lowry completed the 5k course in 20:01.58.

Third for the Aces was junior Ashton Bosler, who finished in a time of 20:23.76 in 68th place. Just nine one-hundredths of a second behind Bosler was fellow junior Hannah Welsh in 69th place. Freshman Izzy Dawson crossed the finish line in 70th for the Aces in a time of 20:40.27.
 
Rounding out the finishers for the Aces were freshman Lauren Meyer (21:08.23) in 73rd, junior Hayley Elliot (22:05.99) in 76th, setting a new PR, and freshman Lexi Sutherland (22:42.55) in 78th.

Bradley captured the MVC Team Championship with a team score of 30, 26 points better than second place UNI. Loyola junior Lindsey Brewis won the MVC Individual Championship in a time of 17:07.76.
 
On the men's side, freshman Ethan Pice earned top honors for the Aces, finishing in 55th place, just four seconds shy of a PR in a time of 27:34.03. Following Price was fellow freshman Dawson Hood in 57th. The Bloomington, Ind. native completed the 8k course in a time of 27:41.73.

Finishing third on the team was sophomore Ricky Hendrix in 60th place in 27:50.49. Fourth for the Aces was freshman Kalen Ochs in 61st, smashing his PR by nearly 20 seconds in a time of 27:56.18. In 63rd place was sophomore Stanley Chepchieng, who crossed the finish line in 28:13.16.

The Evansville trio of Tyler Frields-Reifsteck (28:16.34), Tucker Dawson (29:31.44), and Timmy Miller (30:30.72) rounded-out the finishers for the Aces in 64th, 68th, and 70th, respectively.

Bradley took the men's championship for the second-straight season with a total of 49 points, tying with Indiana State, but capturing the team championship, having the highest finishing individual among the two teams. The Braves also had the individual champion as sophomore Jake Hoffert earned the MVC Individual Championship in a time of 24:37.87.
