EVANSVILLE, Ind. - After a midweek non-conference meeting with #1 Indiana on Wednesday, the University of Evansville men's soccer team returns to Missouri Valley Conference play with a trip to take on MVC-newcomer Vaparaiso at 7 p.m. on Saturday night in Valparaiso, Ind.. Aces Insider Joe Downs has a preview.
In the matchup with the top-ranked Hoosiers, Evansville battled through the first half, allowing just one goal for Indiana. Evansville continued to hold IU to just a goal through the first 13 minutes of the second half before the Hoosiers added a second in the 58th minute, eventually adding a third and fourth goal in route to Indiana's 4-0 victory.

Aces Game Notes
Saturday's match marks just the fifth meeting all-time between the Aces and Crusaders with UE holding a 3-1-1 advantage in the series. Evansville and Valpo haven't met since Septemeber 14, 2008 when the Aces earned a 3-1 win over the Crusaders in the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic at Arad McCutchan Stadium. The last time the two sides met in Valparaiso, the Crusaders captured a 5-4 double-overtime victory over the Aces on August 27, 2006. Valpo enters the match with a 5-5-1 overall record and a 2-2 MVC mark, fresh-off a 3-2 non-conference win at Northern Illinois on Tuesday.
