SPRINGFIELD, Mo. --- Three University of Evansville women's soccer student athletes were honored as All-Missouri Valley Conference, it was announced at the women's soccer tournament banquet on Thursday in Springfield, Missouri.
Senior forward Montana Portenier was named All-MVC Second Team and the freshman duo of Jayme-Lee Hunter and Taran McMillan were named to the MVC All-Freshman Team.
After earning MVC All-Freshman honors in 2014 and Honorable Mention All-MVC honors in 2016, Portenier
captures All-MVC Second-Team honors.
The London, Ontario, Canada native
led the way for the Purple Aces in 2017 with six goals and two assist, including a pair of game-winning goals. Portenier played and started all 17 matches and fired a team-best 29 shots and 15 shots on-goal.
Freshmen
Jayme-Lee Hunter and
Taran McMillan
each made significant contributions for the Aces in their first seasons for Evansville, earning MVC All-Freshman honors. Hunter finished second on the team with four goals, three assists, and 11 points, putting nine of her 15 shots on-frame. McMillan transitioned from a midfielder to a defender midway through the season and helped anchor the backline for the Aces.
