ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Patrick Schnieders continued the University of Evansville's run of Missouri Valley Conference Players of the Week on Monday as he was the third Purple Ace to earn a weekly honor, joining Morgan Florey and Sara Dickey from the softball and women's basketball teams.
 
Schnieders, a senior out of Westphalia, Mo., was named the league's Pitcher of the Week after an incredible start to his final campaign with the Aces. The right-hander was unhittable through five innings for UE, striking out a career-best 11 of the 19 batters he faced. He struck out the side in three of his five frames.
 
Schnieders is the first UE player to receive an MVC weekly honor since the 2015 season, and he's the first conference pitcher of the week for the Aces staff since Brodie Harkness won it twice in March 2015.
 
UE will return to action on Wednesday with a showdown at sixth-ranked Vanderbilt.
