CARBONDALE, Ill. – Swimming and Diving traveled to Carbondale this morning for the final regular season meet of 2016-17. The Aces fought hard, but the Salukis took both wins.
The women posted a final score of 164-79, and the men 170-66.
"I'm happy with some of the performances we had today," said head coach Rickey Perkins. "At this point in the season we're really tired; these past two weeks we've been pushing hard. The women are in the middle of taper so they're really tired and don't have a good feel for the water right now. But the strokes are looking good. It's the small things we need to work on for conference: starts, turns, finishes. Other than that things are great. A little more rest and they will be awesome. Again, the men are super tired, working hard in the weight room—training has been incredible. A couple more weeks until the MAC Championships, and I think we're going to be ready for that."
