Day One Results
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Kayla Katterhenry and Maria Pickens paced the University of Evansville women's golf team on the first day of the Benbow Invitational at Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.
Katterhenry finished the day in fifth with a 6-over 78. She was on the top of the leaderboard for the Purple Aces. Pickens completed the day tied for 7
th place. Her score of 80 has her solidly in the top ten.
Giulia Mallmann ranks in a tie for 31
st place as she registered an 89 on Monday. Lexie Sollman finished the first round with a 91 (T35) while Carly Waggoner and Madison Chaney finished with scored of 92 and 93, respectively.
A pair of players from Oakland University lead the individuals. Morgan Smith and Fiona Schmidt each had rounds of 74 and sit two strokes ahead of third-place Lara Ardler of Flagler College. Her teammate Miranda Greene is in fourth with a 77.
On Tuesday, the squads play the final round of the tournament.
