Final Results
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 5-over 76 saw University of Evansville golfer Tyler Gray finish in a tie for 9
th place as the Purple Aces men's golf squad tied for 4
th place in the Benbow Invitational at Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.
Gray recorded rounds of 76 in both trips around the course to lead UE with a tie for 9
th place. Noah Reese was the second golfer on the leaderboard for the Aces. His 78 on Tuesday saw him finish the event in 15
th place with a score of 157.
One behind him was Wil Pahud, whose final round of 81 gave him a 158 for the tournament, tying him for 16
th. Jon Pick improved by a stroke in the last round. He began the event with an 80 while carding a 79 on Tuesday to tie for 19
th with a 159.
Next up was Matthew Ladd. He recorded identical rounds of 80 in the tournament to place in a tie for 21
st with a 160. Zac Turi, Cameron Weyer and Robert Waggoner completed the contingent. Turi tied for 38
th with a 169. He improved by five shots on Tuesday, firing off an 82. Weyer tied for 43
rd with a 173 while Waggoner checked in with a 175, tying for 45
th.
Butler took the top team spot as their 2-round total of 297 saw them defeat IUPUI by seven strokes. Albany State was third while UE tied USI for fourth. Jackson Juerling of IUPUI was the medalist, following his 1-under 70 in the first round with a 2-over 73 in the final round to finish with a 143. Patrick Allgeier of Butler was second with a 148. The Bulldogs swept the second through fourth spots.
Tomorrow, UE remains in Jacksonville for the Bulldog Invitational at Windsor Park Golf Club.
