Day One Results

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A busy week of action continued on Wednesday as the University of Evansville women's golf squad played the first round of the Bulldog Florida Invitational at Windsor Park.
 
Kayla Katterhenry had the top day for the Purple Aces, carding an 80 in the first round to sit in a tie for 12^th place.  She is five strokes off the lead.
 
Next for UE was Maria Pickens.  A score of 85 in the opening day has her sitting in a tie for 30^th place on the list.  Third on the team was Madison Chaney.  She ranks in a tie for 40^th with an 87 with Giulia Mallmann and Lexie Sollman just behind her with round of 88.  The pair is tied for 42^nd.  Carly Waggoner completed Wednesday's play with a 94.
 
Three are tied atop the individual standings as Samantha Vodry (High Point), Giulia Vandenberg (Stetson) and Eilidh Watson (Stetson) each shot scores of 75.  Six others are within three shots.
 
Stetson enters the final day with a 4-stroke lead over High Point as they finished the day with a 310.  Butler and Western Carolina are tied for third with scores of 325.  UE is in 8^th with a 340.
 
Tomorrow, the teams finish the event with a single round of 18.
