Gray tied for the lead at Tennessee State

Opening Day Results

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tyler Gray is tied for the individual lead as the University of Evansville men's golf team stands in 6th place following the first two rounds of the Tennessee State Big Blue Intercollegiate at Hermitage Golf Club.
 
Gray finished the day with two rounds under par, circling the course in 71 strokes to open the day before carding a 2-under 70 in round two to sit in a tie atop the leaderboard with a 141.
 
Wil Pahud also had a stellar day on the course.  He started the day with a 1-under 71 before finishing with a 74 in round two.  He is tied for 7th place with a score of 145.  Third on the squad is Jon Pick.  Rounds of 79 and 80 have him tied for 49th entering the final day.
 
Matthew Ladd posted identical rounds of 80.  Ladd is tied for 52nd with a 160 while Zac Turi is two behind him with a 162.  He notched a 79 to start the day before recording an 83.  Playing as an individual, Noah Reese had a solid day.  Scores of 77 and 76 gave him a 153 for the day, good for a standing of 27th.  Robert Waggoner started play with an 89, but improved by seven strokes in the second round, notching an 82.  He has a 171.
 
UT Martin has the team lead with a 2-round total of 587.  They are three ahead of Detroit Mercy and 11 in front of Murray State.  Evansville is in 6th place with a 604, just one behind a 4th place tie between West Georgia and Tennessee State.  Jeremy Fultz of TSU is tied atop the leaderboard with Tyler Gray.  He shot the low round of the day in the second trip around the course – a 6-under 66.
 
Eighteen holes remain on Tuesday morning.
