EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men's soccer team opens its regular season with a pair of matches this weekend.
The Purple Aces open the weekend at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a contest against Anderson (Ind.) at Arad McCutchan Stadium before heading east to take on Marshall in Huntington, W.V.

UE opened 2017 with its lone exhibition match of the season against IUPUI on Sunday evening. The Aces scored twice in the opening 30 minutes as UE captured a 2-1 win in the exhibition.
Anderson enters the match following a 2016 campaign that saw the Ravens finish with a 9-8-1 mark. Friday's match marks the first ever meeting between the Aces and Anderson.
Sunday's contest with the Thundering Herd marks the fourth time the Aces and Marshall have met with UE leading the all-time series, 3-1-0. Marshall opens the 2017 season Friday against UNC Asheville before welcoming in the Aces.
