SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Evansville men's golf team recorded a team score of 293, a stroke improvement over the opening round, as the Aces sit in a tie for eighth at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn.

After a 294 in the first round, the Purple Aces improved with a team score of 293 on the second day of competition as Evansville sits in a tie for eighth with a team total of 587. Leading the field with one round left is Eastern Kentucky who followed up a first-round 287 with a 277 on the second day for a total of 564. 

Leading the Aces after the second round was Tyler Gray who carded a two-under 69 to put the senior in seventh at four-under for the tournament with a two-round total of 140. With one round left, Gray sits just four strokes back of the lead at the intercollegiate.

Also recording an under-par round on the second day was Matthew Ladd who tallied a 70 after a first-round 75 to put Ladd in a tie for 23rd with a two-day total of 145. 

A trio of Aces all sit within one stroke of each other after two rounds. Noah Reese and Spencer Wagner each have total of 150, while competing as an individual, Jessie Brumley is just a stroke back with a total of 151. Both Reese and Wagner are tied for 50th, as Reese tallied a second-round 76 following a 74 in the first round while Wagner carded a 77 on the second day following an opening-round 73. In a tie for 52nd, Brumley posted a three-stroke improvement in the second round with a 74 after recording a 77 on the first day. After a 77 in the first round, Cameron Weyer is in a tie for 67th after recording a 79 on the second day of competition.

The Aces wrap-up the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on Tuesday with the final round of the event at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn.
