ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Opening the day in sixth, the University of Evansville women's golf team recorded a second -round score of 317 to move up a spot and finish in fifth at the Lonnie Barton Invitational in St. Augustine, Fla. at the LPGA Country Club.
The Purple Aces opened the tournament with a 330 in the first round, but bounced back with a 317 on the second day to push Evansville into the top five with a team-total of 647. Fairleigh Dickinson captured the team title with a two-round 618 (311-307) finishing with a 17-stroke advantage over second-place finishing North Carolina A&T.
Pacing the Aces was Madison Chaney who moved up three spots on the final day with a second-round 78 for an invitational total of 157 (79-78). Sophia Rohleder held firm in a tie for 12th as Rohleder followed up her opening-round 79 with an 80 on the second day for a total of 159.

Final Results
Just a stroke behind Rohleder, Minka Gill carded a two-day total of 160 (84-76) with an eight-stroke improvement in the final round to move Gill into a tie for 17th. Following Gill were Lexie Sollman and Giulia Mallman who finished within a pair of strokes of one another. Sollman carded a 10-stroke improvement on the final day as Sollman finished in a tie for 49th with a two-round total of 176 while Mallman finished in a tie for 54th with a total of 178 (88-90).
For the third time this spring, the men's and women's teams will both travel to Sevierville, Tenn. to compete in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate from March 18-20.
