EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men's soccer team has announced the addition of central defender Mathias Nors to the 2018 class for the Purple Aces.
Nors becomes the 12
th player to join the Aces since the conclusion of a fall season that saw Evansville amass an 11-8-2 record and advance to the semifinals of the 2017 MVC Tournament.
"Mathias is the final piece to our 2018 recruiting class," said Aces men's soccer head coach Marshall Ray. "He can play centrally in the midfield or in the back and will give us options in both locations. We're excited about the 2018 season and looking forward to August."
A native of Viborg, Denmark, Nors joins the Aces after a season with Viborg FF U19 in which Nors has made 17 appearances, scoring a pair of goals in 1,484 minutes along the backline. Previous to last season, Nors enjoyed stints with Midtjylland U19 and VFF Youth, the youth club of Viborg FF. During his time with FK Viborg, Nors was named FK Viborg player of the year in 2014.
As a team, Nors
' FC Midtjylland side won the Trofeo Nereo Roco in 2015 and won the Copa Chivas in 2016.
