Evansville is coming off a strong performance at the Austin Peay Invitational two weeks ago that saw eight program records fall and a breakout performance by freshman Stanley Chepchieng. In the men's triple jump, Chepchieng captured the individual event victory with a jump of 13.79 meters, besting the second-place finisher by .79 meters. The invitational marked the first time in his collegiate career that Chepchieng had participated in the triple jump. Chepchieng's distance currently sits 18th-best among all jumpers in the Missouri Valley Conference.

The spring has been full of excitement for the Aces men's and women's track and field teams as both sides have combined to put together 35 program-record breaking performances in their first season of competition since 1985.

Saturday's invitational represents the final meet for the Aces before heading to the 2018 MVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 11 through 13 in Terre Haute, Ind.
