TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - In its final tune-up before the MVC Championships, the University of Evansville women's golf team competes at the Indiana State Spring Invitational on Sunday and Monday at Country Club of Terre Haute in Terre Haute, Ind.

The Purple Aces are coming off an off-weekend following the Little Rock/Arkansas State Intercollegiate. In Arkansas, the Aces earned a ninth-place finish as a team. carding a 968 (332 - 320 - 316) as a team in the three-round tournament.

Freshman Sophia Rohleder continued her strong spring for the Aces. The freshman averaged 82.55 strokes per round in 11 rounds in the fall, but has recorded a four stroke per round advantage (78.80 strokes per round) in the spring. Rohleder led Evansville after rebounding from an opening-round 82, carding a 78 and 75 on the final day of competition to place her in a tie for 36th with a three-round total of 235. This marks the second-straight week in which Rohleder has finished as the highest-finishing Ace after finishing in a tie for 16th with a three-round total of 232 at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate.

Rohleder was followed by Madison Chaney and Minka Gill who finished within a stroke of one another. Chaney opened the invitational with an 82 on the first day before beginning the final day with an 82 and improving with a 77 in the final round to finish in a tie for 45th with a two-day total of 241. Gill remained consistent for the Aces throughout the tournament, opening the invitational with an 81 in the first round and recording an 81 and 80 in the final two rounds  as Gill recorded a three-round total of 242 earned a 48th-place finish.

The first round of the Indiana State Spring Invitational opens Sunday morning at Country Club of Terre Haute. The course is par 72 course, playing 6,041 yards in the opening round.
