EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Evansville Athletic Department will host a Freeland Friday mystery bag event Friday, April 13, when the Purple Aces baseball team hosts Bradley at 6:00 pm.
The event marks the first Missouri Valley Conference home game of the season for UE and will celebrate the one-year anniversary of former UE All-American Kyle Freeland's Major League debut. Freeland, who was selected by his hometown Colorado Rockies with the eighth overall pick of the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft, made his big league debut on April 7, 2017, against the Los Angeles Dodgers and earned his first-career win by allowing just one run on four hits over 6.0 innings of work.
A total of 100 mystery bags will be available for $5 each. Each bag will include a Kyle Freeland baseball card, an Aces t-shirt and another mystery item. In another Freeland-related twist, 21 of the 100 bags will contain a card that has been autographed by Freeland.
In addition to the mystery bag promotion, UE's annual Lunch with the Aces will take place the afternoon prior to the game. The luncheon will begin at 11:00 am and will take place in the Meeks Family Fieldhouse inside the Carson Center.
