EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville diving team opened up its season in a successful fashion on Friday night against Southern Illinois.
Junior Courtney Coverdale began on a high note with first place finishes in both the 1-Meter and 3-Meter events, with scores of 274.95 and 266.25 respectively. Additionally, her score in the 1-Meter has already qualified her for NCAA Zones in the spring. Freshman Alyssa Vonder Haar made her debut with two fouth place finishes with 142.80 in the 1-Meter and 158.55 in the 3-Meter.
On the men's side, Miguel Marcano notched two third place finishes with 241.725 in the 1-Meter and 218.775 in the 3-Meter.
Purple Aces swimming opens their season Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at Wyttenbach Pool.
