Last year, the University of Evansville finished in sixth place. Several performances highlighted last year's championships. Senior Michaela Kent became familiar with the podium with a number of top 8 finishes. She took home fifth place with a career-best time of 23.80 in the 50 freestyle. To improve from there, Kent took the title of 100 backstroke champion. Her time of 55.53 broke the school record set by Alex Howard in 2012. To finish her individual events, she earned another fifth place finish in the 100 freestyle with a final time of 51.43.
Â
Sophomore Kristen Myers saw success in her first conference championship of her collegiate career. She excelled in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.92 to earn sixth place.
Â
The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Abby Smith, Mackenzie Harris, Myers, and Kent took third by a slim margin of .44 seconds.
Â
Junior diver Courtney Coverdale performed in her usual fashion as well. She earned second place on 1-Meter as her score of 264.65 nearly 20 points ahead of the third-place score. On 3-Meter, she scored 255.65 points to take third place.
