The Aces (8-16, 3-10 Missouri Valley Conference) will be aiming to put an end to a six-game losing skid when they take on the Salukis, and the team is coming off a weekend where it came the closest to ending the run.
Last Friday, a Rangie Bessard basket inside the final four seconds doomed Evansville's hopes in a 69-68 setback at Wichita State.
UE will be hoping to repeat the kind of performance the team had against the Salukis last month, as the Aces held off a late SIU surge to pick up a 63-60 victory at the Ford Center. As has often been the case in UE's wins this season, the duo of all-time leading scorer Sara Dickey and Camary Williams carried the bulk of the load for the Aces in the contest. Dickey poured in 21 points and Williams earned a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
The Aces were also stout defensively in the contest, holding SIU to just 30.9% shooting.
For the season, Williams leads the Aces in both points and rebounds, putting up 14.8 and 8.1 per game. The Ft. Myers, Fla., native is also second nationally in steals with 4.25 per game, and her season total of 102 is just six away from the top single-season mark in school history.
Dickey will also be shooting for history as she enters the game just 21 points away from becoming the eighth 2,000-point scorer in the history of the MVC. The senior out of Montezuma, Ind., currently averages 14.1 points per game.
Meanwhile, SIU (12-12, 6-7 MVC) will be looking to build off a 61-58 win over Wichita State last Sunday. The game against Evansville will mark the first at SIU Arena since the team pulled off one of the better results in the Valley this season, a 64-59 win over Northern Iowa, which currently sits second in the league standings.
Tipoff on Friday is slated for 6 p.m.
